4 Must Ride Bike Parks for Summer 2020

*Please note though these trails are open, social distancing is still required.

Kick off Summer 2020 in style by checking out these 4 must ride bike parks right here in cottage country. Like most, you might have been a little delayed getting your MTB in for a spring tune up – not to worry! We’ve included some fantastic folks near these bike parks who can get your MTB rockin’ n’ rollin’ in no time.

Bracebridge Resource Management Centre

You can find this gem just 10 minutes from downtown Bracebridge, and once you get there you’ll quickly understand how it became a riders’ favourite. The 24 different trails account for over 20km of single and double track lines, which means there are plenty of options for novice and experienced riders alike. A particular favourite of ours is ‘Gnarnia‘; a 990m double black diamond – the perfect challenge for an experienced adrenaline junkie. As of May 20th, 2020 the Muskoka Off-Road Cycling Association reports; “Trails are cleared and mostly dried. Please ride responsibly, so you are not putting yourself or others at risk”.

Pourcipine Ridge Mountain Bike Park

Porcupine Ridge Mountain Bike Park is an advanced trail system found 5 minutes from downtown Bracebridge. This 17 trail, 11.4km network is nestled atop a great hill built from pieces of the Canadian Shield. Don’t be surprised if you see 1 of 9 deer frequently spotted in this neck of the woods – your best shot at catching a glimpse is heading to the north/east side of the park and taking a run at the ‘Fern Gully‘.  As of May 20th, 2020 the Muskoka Off-Road Cycling Association reports; “Trails are cleared and mostly dried. Please ride responsibly, so you are not putting yourself or others at risk”.

Before taking on one of the 14 trails, warm up at the pump track – a looping route made of dirt mounds and berms that is perfect to get your legs fired up before hitting the trails. If you need to have your ride serviced before hitting the trails, check out Muskoka Bicycle Pro Shop and The Bike Shop in the nearby town of Huntsville.

Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre

Adventure and fun is the name of the game at Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre in Parry Sound. There are 15 different double and single track trails ranging from easy to difficult just waiting for you to take on, all you have to do is pickup a day pass at The Burrow or online here – and once you see how great this place is, consider getting a membership for the season!
