Description
The Port Sydney Training Loop is 58km and begins and ends at Liv Outside. The route takes you along Cedar Lane to Hwy 117, along Bonnie Lake Rd to Deer Lake Rd, then up Muskoka Rd 10 to Hwy 141, with Muskoka Rd 4 returning you to the shop. If you tour this route in the summertime, be sure to pack you swimsuit on your bike as the public beach on Mary Lake in Port Sydney is lovely and a wonderful spot to stop for a swim. There is a great little general store in town to get a cold drink or an ice cream cone, or if you’re looking for lunch or dinner, try Grille ’27 at the Pine Lodge Inn. Hwy 141 is very scenic along Long’s Lake Rd with a big rock cut and lake view. The road here is in good shape with a shoulder and has relatively low traffic on weekdays. The route has a total ascent of 579.25 m and has a maximum elevation of 337.28 m.
Liv Outside also offers group rides on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings of various distances. Phone the shop for details.
