Rattlesnake Extension Mountain Biking Trail is located on site at the Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre and is – as the name implies – an extension of original Rattlesnake Trail which adds a nice loop around a former beaver wetland. In counter-clockwise direction, it starts with a rather steep descent, then is relatively flat as it skirts the wetland (can be wet in spring). Just after the picnic spot, there is a ramp that bridges up onto an old beaver dam. You can either exit the trail onto the Lynx Loop here, or complete the loop back to Rattlesnake. The last segment traverses some beautiful rocky ridges, but there are a couple of short and tough climbs to clear (they’re much easier in the opposite direction!).
