XTERRA Race Loop – 2017 Sprint

Description

Description

The XTERRA Race Loop – 2017 Sprint is located on site at the Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre. This is the route that was used in the 2017 Sprint portion of the XTERRA Parry Sound race. It is very much like the full course, except that it skips Rattlesnake and a tricky part of Eagle. The goal was to create a balanced mix of singletrack and doubletrack for racing, and to give the sprint triathlon racers a bit more of a head start over the full triathlon racers, thereby avoiding traffic congestion issues. Despite bypassing those two early sections and cutting approximately 1000m from the race loop, this is still a very challenging course. Faster riders will complete the course in approximately 35 minutes, but novices and those new to the classic Canadian Shield terrain (and bare granite riding) will likely require significantly more time to complete the course. The hardest sections on this loop will be the first and last Eagle sections, as well as the singletrack around Wolf.
