The Bracebridge Triathlon is put on by Multisport Canada, and features all of the short course distances. Try-a-Tri, Sprint, and Olympic in the duathlon and triathlon formats. The swim takes place in the Muskoka River, and you are treated to a downstream current as you head out on the course, but you have to battle it on the way back to the swim exit. The bike course winds along the river on a quiet back street, passing by Santa’s Village and beyond, for an out and back ride. The run crosses over to the other side of the river and follows a fairly flat, with a couple of rolling hills, course. This is Muskoka after all….the course can’t be completely flat! The transition and race festivities take place in Annie Williams Park, which is right downtown Bracebridge, and has a great playground for the kids if you plan on bringing them along.
